The company has operations in Europe, Asia-Pacific region, Middle East and Russia, among others. It operates through JCDecaux-Top Media.
In 2021, JCDecaux SA's billboards were present at 957,706 locations worldwide. The adjusted annual revenue of the Billboard advertising business increased from EUR416.7 million in 2020 to EUR426.7 million in 2021 (+16.6% on an organic basis), with strong growth across all geographic regions. This activity represented 15.5% of the Group’s revenue. The billboard business of JCDecaux also includes the design and installation of very large format neon advertising signs as well as the event banner and very large displays on construction sites.
In 2021, the group lowered the density of the number of advertising faces in its offer in line with its strategic optimization plan for its Billboard advertising assets. In all markets, priority has been given to the areas that have made the most contributions in terms of coverage of major metropolitan and peri-urban routes, emergence, and visibility among audiences that are primarily motorists. Revenue in the Europe region (excluding France and the United Kingdom) saw the biggest increase, amounting to EUR824.5 million, up 18.8% from 2020, with the presence of 39,617 advertising faces, followed by France with 31,445 advertising faces had a revenue of EUR532.6 million in 2021.
