Novaky Mine in Trencin, was the largest mine in Slovakia, producing approximately 1.94 million metric tons per annum (mmtpa) of Run-of-Mine (ROM) in 2021. The Novaky Mine is owned by Hornonitrianske bane Prievidza, a.s., and is due to operate until 2031. The second largest mine with approximately 0.61 mmtpa of ROM, was the Maluzina Quarry located in Zilina. The Maluzina Quarry is owned by Vinci SA.
Cigel Mine located in Trencin was the third-largest mine, the Rozalia Gold Mine located in Banska Bystrica was the fourth-largest mine, and the Cary Mine located in Banska Bystrica was the fifth-largest mine, with an estimated ROM production of 0.56 mmtpa, 0.52 mmtpa and 0.46 mmtpa, respectively, in 2021. The Cigel Mine is owned by Hornonitrianske bane Prievidza, a.s., the Rozalia Gold Mine is owned by Slovenska Banska s.r.o. and the Cary Mine is owned by Bana Cary a.s. which is due to operate until 2052.
