McDonald's launches Grimace Shake in Canada
McDonald's has officially launched its Grimace Shake in Canada at participating restaurants for a limited period.
The shake, which made its debut in the US in mid-2023, is now available to Canadian customers in celebration of the character Grimace's birthday.
Canadian customers can place their order in-restaurant, through the McDonald's mobile app, at a drive-through or via McDelivery.
McDonald's Canada chief marketing officer Alyssa Buetikofer said: “When the Grimace Shake dropped for our neighbours to the south, the response we got from fans here in Canada was overwhelming.
“Inspired by the sheer creativity and passion we saw for the Grimace Shake, we had to bring it to Canadian menus.”
In August 2023, McDonald’s partnered with Jazwares, the seller of Squishmallows, to serve a new limited edition McFlurry at its restaurants in Canada.
The new Squishmallows McFlurry includes a vanilla soft serve mixed with pink popping candy and blueberry-flavoured syrup.
The company rolled it out in regular and snack sizes at participating restaurants.
The restaurant group also offered ten music-themed Squishmallows toys in specially-themed Happy Meal boxes.
Jazwares brand and marketing senior vice-president Gerhard Runken said at the time: “In partnering with McDonald’s Canada, we are able to bring fans an interactive 360° Squishmallows experience, which includes the Squishmallows McFlurry, exclusive digital playlists and special edition Squishmallows.
“Happy Meals have featured so many iconic brands throughout the years and this is a tremendous milestone for Squishmallows as we join forces with McDonald’s, a brand that is trusted and recognised across the world and loved by Canadians coast to coast.”
