Gordian reveals construction cost trend analysis tool

Gordian, a data-driven solutions provider for all phases of the building life cycle, has unveiled its new offering, Data Insights - Cost Trends.

This cloud-native dashboard, powered by Gordian’s RSMeans Data, provides an intuitive interface, offering a view of past construction cost trends.

It is designed to transform complex data into actionable intelligence.

The tool is developed to equip decision-makers with the ability to anticipate cost shifts, adjust budgets, and make informed decisions for construction project planning and prioritisation.

Gordian's product team has developed this tool to aggregate RSMeans Data, providing users with a comprehensive view of cost trends across various dimensions in a single dashboard.

The dashboard offers access to location-specific trends in more than 970 North American markets, delivering detailed insights into labour, materials, equipment, and task divisions.

It offers a comparative analysis of independent datasets of historical and current costs, thereby ensuring objectivity and reliability.

Gordian noted that the technology allows individuals of all technical backgrounds to engage with key market intelligence.

Gordian chief technology officer and chief product officer Chris Gaudreau said: “Budgeting and cost estimating has become extremely challenging with the constant change and complexity of construction costs.

“In response to our customers' desire for timely insights into cost trends, we've developed this dashboard to empower informed decision-making for project planning.”

Offered as a software-as-a-service solution (SaaS), Data Insights - Cost Trends is available via the Gordian Cloud Platform.
