As a percentage of overall revenue, digital revenue in FY2021 represented 42.2%, an increase of 7.9% from the previous year (FY2020).

Digital marketplaces have grown exponentially throughout the period of Covid, and this movement will last for years as they take over as the key driver for sales growth. In FY2021, the company witnessed several acquisitions that improved capabilities, boosting digital commerce in maintaining its incredibly strong steady growth.

Ascential’s 2021 consolidated revenue increased by 51.9% compared to FY2020, which was driven by an increase in its subscription base and sharp growth in its digital activities. The company implements various technologies to maximize the revenue from the product design business.

The company continued to implement its M&A strategy, adding seven acquisitions to its digital commerce capabilities, and expanding their relevance to the entire addressable market. In the view to strengthen and protect the company over the long term, concentrate on accelerating the growth of its digital portfolio, and strong market position.

Digital Commerce has continued to grow strongly, with revenues up 19% on an organic basis and up 33% on a proforma basis including the organic growth performance of the businesses. The business continues to make sound investments in strategic projects in FY2021, focusing especially on the expansion of its digital infrastructure.

Despite the economic obstacles caused by the conflict in Ukraine, high inflation, and rising energy and consumer pricing, Ascential recorded healthy revenue in the digital & dialog media segment, the revenues rose by GBP103.1 million to GBP147.3 million in 2021.

Digital revenue as a percentage of overall revenue increased marginally from 20.5% in FY2019 to 39.1% in FY2020. The company continued to invest heavily in its fast-growing digital advertising media in 2021. As of December 31, 2021, the company serves clients in more than 120 countries by combining local expertise with a global perspective.
