CO2, Methane & NOx gases form a major part of greenhouse gases released from Fossil Fuels such as gas and oil. Due to rising GHG emissions from companies, it became important among major contributing sectors to report gas emissions during their operations.

JBS is a food processing company that processes beef, pork, poultry and lamb, chicken, and other convenience food products and is a leading total GHG emitter. In 2021, JBS’ total (Scope 1 & 2) GHG emissions were 6,075 thousand tonnes of CO2 equivalents. In 2021, the company decided to zero its net carbon emissions from all operations by 2040.
Tyson Foods is a food processor and marketer of chicken, beef, and pork. The company’s total GHG emissions (Scope 1 & 2) were 5,790 thousand tonnes of CO2 equivalents which decreased by 5% from 2020.
Nestle, manufacturer and marketer of food products and beverages had total GHG emissions (Scope 1 & 2) of 4,980 thousand tonnes of CO2 equivalents in 2021. The FMCG company aims to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
Coca-Cola and ABInBev were among the leading GHG emitters in 2021 with emissions of 4,980 thousand tonnes of CO2 equivalents and 4,410 thousand tonnes of CO2 equivalents, respectively.
