The number of active job postings in the Business and Consumer Services sector of South Africa decreased by 2.74% MoM, and decreased by 28.06% since October 2023, reaching 782 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 162 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing a decrease of 0% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 184 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 63.71% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 56.57% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 42.14%
