The number of active job postings in the Business and Consumer Services sector of Ireland decreased by 4.12% MoM, and decreased by 8.33% since October 2023, reaching 792 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 243 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing a decrease of 24.77% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 277 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 7.97% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 26.81% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 49.27%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 9.88%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 2.86% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 20.24%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 300, number of jobs closed stood at 371 and number of active jobs stood at 821.
