Dr. Jeffrey M. Leiden has been the Executive Chairman of the company since April 2020. He previously served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the company from 2012 through March 2020. Prior to this, he served in Abbott Laboratories as the President and the Chief Operating Officer, and also was a Member of the board of directors of Abbott Laboratories from 2001 to 2006. Prior to that, he served as non-executive Vice Chairman for Shire Pharmaceuticals plc and was also a Member of the board of directors of Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Currently he is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences.

Dr. Reshma Kewalramani has been the President, Chief Executive Officer and the Director of the company since February 2020. Previously she served as the Chief Medical Officer, and Executive Vice President of the company from 2018. Prior to this, she was the Senior Vice President, Late Development of the company from 2017. Dr. Kewalramani also served as the Vice President Global Clinical Development, Nephrology & Metabolic Therapeutic Area and as Vice President, U.S. Medical Organization at Amgen Inc.

Mr. Charles F. Wagner has been the Chief Financial Officer of the company since 2019. Prior to this, he served as the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President, Finance at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, Inc from 2015. Mr. Wagner also served as the Chief Financial Officer for Bruker Corporation, Progress Software Corporation and Millipore Corporation. In addition he served as an advisor at Bain & Company and Coopers & Lybrand.

Mr. Stuart A. Arbuckle has been the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the company since 2021. Previously he served as the Chief Commercial Officer of the company. Prior to this, he held multiple commercial leadership roles at Amgen, Inc., including President, Vice President and General Manager. Prior to that, Mr. Arbuckle also served at GlaxoSmithKline plc.

Ms. Kristen C. Ambrose has been the Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer of Vertex since May 2021. Prior to this, she served in several leadership roles at Boston Scientific Corporation including Vice President of Finance and Controller of the Global Endoscopy Division from 2019, Vice President of Global Internal Audit from 2017. Before that, she served as the Accountant at Ernst & Young LLP.
