Dr. Ronnie van der Merwe has been the Chief Executive Officer of Mediclinic since June 2018. Dr. Merwe established the Clinical Information, Advanced Analytics, Health Information Management and Clinical Services functions at Mediclinic; and subsequently served as the Mediclinic Group’s Chief Clinical Officer. In 2010, Dr. Merwe was appointed as the Executive Director of Mediclinic International Limited till the combination of the businesses of the company (then Al Noor Hospitals Group plc) and Mediclinic International Limited. He also serves as a non-executive Director of Spire Healthcare Group plc from May 2018.

Mr. Jurgens Myburgh has been the Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of the Company since August 2016. Prior to joining the Mediclinic, he served as the Chief Financial Officer at Datatec Limited. Prior to Datatec, he worked at The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited as the Head of Mergers and Acquisitions.

Mr. Koert Pretorius has been the Chief Operating Officer since 2022. Prior to this, he served as Chief Executive Officer: Mediclinic Southern Africa since 2008. Earlier to this, he worked as Chief Operating Officer of the Mediclinic Group since 2003. Mr. Pretorius joined as Regional Manager for the central region of Mediclinic’s operations in Southern Africa in 1998.

Dr. Dirk le Roux is the Chief Information Officer of Mediclinic. He joined the company in August 2014 as the Group ICT Executive. Prior to joining Mediclinic, Dr. Roux served in various managerial roles, including as the Managing Director of ThinkWorx Consulting, the Chief Information Officer at Media24, the General Manager of IT Strategy and Risk at Absa Bank Limited, and Head of IT at the Development Bank of Southern Africa.

Dr. Tyson Welzel has been the Chief Innovation Officer of the company since 2020. He joined the company in 2016, taking responsibility for clinical governance and health technology assessments. Dr. Welzel also served as the General Manager of the company. He is a co founder of the Centre of Excellence in Emergency Medicine in Bern.
