Highwoods Properties Inc: Executives

Mr. Carlos E Evans has been the Chairman of the company since 2015. Previously, he served as the Executive Vice president and Group Head of the eastern division of Wells Fargo commercial banking and retired in 2014. Mr. Evans joined First Union National Bank in 2000 as the Wholesale Banking Executive for the commercial segment prior to its merger with Wachovia Corporation in 2001. Mr. Evans also served as the Wholesale Banking Executive and an Executive Vice President for the Wachovia general banking group.

Mr. Theodore J. Klinck has been the Chief Executive Officer and Director of the company since 2019. He also serves as the President of the company. Previously, he served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and Investment Officer from 2015 to 2018. Mr. Klinck also served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer from 2012 to 2015. Prior to joining Highwoods, he served as the Principal and Chief Investment Officer of Goddard Investment Group and a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley Real Estate. Currently, he serves as a Director of First Tee – Triangle.

Mr. Brendan Maiorana has been the Chief Financial Officer of the company since 2022 and the Executive Vice President since 2019. Previously, he served as the Senior Vice President of Finance and Investor Relations of Highwoods. Prior to joining Highwoods, Mr. Maiorana served at Wells Fargo Securities and Ernst & Young LLP.

Mr. Brian M. Leary has been the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of the company since 2019. Previously, he served as the President of Commercial and mixed-use business unit of Crescent Communities since 2014. Mr. Leary has held several management positions with AIG Global Real Estate, Atlantic Station, LLC Jacoby Development, Inc., Atlanta Beltline, Inc. and Central Atlanta Progress.

Mr. Dan Clemmens serves as Chief Accounting Officer and Vice President of the company. Previously, he served as the senior manager for 13 years at Ernst & Young LLP in Atlanta. Mr. Dan has extensive experience in the real estate industry.
