Heartland Financial USA Inc: Executives

Mr. John K Schmidt has been the Chairman of the company since 2022. Previously, he served as the Chief Operating Officer from 2004 and Chief Financial Officer from 1991 at the company. Prior to that, Mr. Schmidt served as the Officer at Dubuque Bank and Trust Company from 1984 to 2004 and President from 1999 to 2004. Earlier, he also served at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and KPMG LLP. Mr. Schmidt currently also serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at A.Y. McDonald Industries since 2013 and Corporate Secretary since 2014. He also serves as the Director of HTLF subsidiary Dubuque Bank and Trust board for more than five years; Board Member and Treasurer at High Voltage LLC; and Director at A.Y. McDonald\ Industries since 2013.

Mr. Bruce K Lee has been the Chief Executive Officer of the company since June 2018. He also serves as the President and Director of the company. Previously, Mr. Lee served at Fifth Third as the Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer; Executive Vice President and Director of the company’s special assets group; and Executive Vice President, Commercial Banking Division Head and Affiliate Senior Commercial Banker. Prior to that, he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer at Fifth Third affiliate bank in northwestern Ohio. Mr. Lee currently also serves as a Director of Heartland subsidiary Citywide Banks since 2017 and Director of Heartland subsidiary First Bank & Trust since 2018.

Mr. Bryan R McKeag has been the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of the company since 2013. Previously, he served as the Executive Vice President, Corporate Controller and Principal Accounting Officer at Associated Banc-Corp. He also served at JP Morgan and KPMG.

Mr. Mark E. Frank has been the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of the company since 2022. Prior to HTLF, Mr. Frank served as Executive Vice President, Senior Banking Officer at CoBiz Financial from 2003 to 2019.

Ms. Janet M Quick has been the Chief Accounting Officer, Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of the company since 2008. She joined the company in 1994 as the Internal Auditor.
