Ms. Barbara Chapman has been the Chairman of Genesis since October 2018. She joined the company in May 2018 as the Director of the company. Ms. Chapman is also the Director of The New Zealand Initiative and NZME. Previously, she served as the Chairman of Oxfam New Zealand and Director of Oxfam International; and inaugural Trustee of the New Zealand Equal Opportunities Trust and also served as its Chairman.

Mr. Malcolm Johns serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Genesis Energy since March 2023. Prior to this, he serves as the Chief Executive of Christchurch Airport in 2014. Mr. Johns also served as the Chief Executive of InterCity Group and held several governance roles within New Zealand’s transport and tourism sectors. He is a founding signatory and member of the Climate Leaders Coalition Steering Group, and Chair of the APEC Business Advisory Council.

Mr. James Spence has been the Chief Financial Officer of the company since 2022. Prior to this, he served as the Chief Financial Officer at Gentrack. Mr. Spence also served in various finance role at Centrica PLC. He held the role at three integrated energy companies, Direct Energy in North America, Energy Australia based in Melbourne and ERM Power based in Brisbane.

Ms. Claire Walker serves as the Chief People Officer of Genesis Energy since April 2023. Previously, she serves as the Chief People and Culture Officer at SkyCity Entertainment Group. Prior to this, she held senior human resources positions at Sanford Limited, Carter Holt Harvey and Downer. She also served governance role, as Deputy Chair, on the advisory board of the Sustainable Business Council in New Zealand.

Mr. Matthew Osborne has been the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer since 2020. Prior to this, he was the Executive General Manager of Corporate Affairs. Mr. Osborne also served as the company's General Counsel and Company Secretary.
