Mr. Bruce Van Saun has been the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the company since 2013. Prior to this, he served as the Group Finance Director and as an Executive Director of the RBS Board from 2009 to 2013. Previously, Mr. Van Saun held a number of senior positions with Bank of New York and later Bank of New York Mellon, including the Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer from 1997 to 2008. Earlier, he held various senior positions with Deutsche Bank, Kidder Peabody & Co., and Wasserstein Perella Group. Mr. Van Saun serves as a Director at Moody’s Corporation and a Member of The Clearing House supervisory board.

Mr. John F. Woods has been the Vice Chairman of the company since 2019 and is its Chief Financial Officer since February 2017. Previously, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of the Americas Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc. and Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer for the predecessor company of MUFG Union Bank, N.A., a wholly owned subsidiary of MUFG. Earlier, Mr. Woods served as the Chief Financial Officer of the Home Lending business at JPMorgan Chase and Washington Mutual. He also held several Senior Financial Positions at the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation.

Ms. Beth Johnson has been the Chief Experience Officer, Vice Chairman, and Head of ESG of the company since January 2020. Previously, she served as Chief Marketing Officer, Head of Virtual Channels, and Head of Corporate Strategy within Citizens. Ms. Johnson was a Senior Leader at Bain and Company and has also held roles at J.P. Morgan and Goldman Sachs.

Mr. C. Jack Read has been the Chief Accounting Officer, Controller, and Executive Vice President of the company since 2018. Prior to this, he served as Managing Director and Head of Operational Risk at Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc from 2016 to 2018. Previously, he worked with J.P. Morgan Chase as Managing Director in the Corporate Tax Department.

Mr. Michael Ruttledge is the Chief Information Officer, Executive Vice President, and Head of Enterprise Security and Technology of the company. Prior to this, he served as the Group Chief Information Officer of American Express. Mr. Ruttledge held various roles related to engineering and infrastructure roles within the financial services industry including merchant services, payments, risk, customer service, fraud, and banking and finance.
