Schweizerische Nationalbank (SNB) is the central bank of Switzerland that conducts various activities, including the setting of monetary policy to maintain price stability, managing of interest rates to keep inflation low, issuing banknotes, and maintenance of a stable financial system. SNB also handles other activities such as supply and distribution of cash, custody of securities, cashless payment transactions, and asset management; issues money market debt register claims and bonds; and carries out foreign exchange transactions. The bank has representative offices in Geneva, Basel, Lucerne, Lausanne, Lugano, and St Gallen; and a branch in Singapore. SNB is headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland.
