In terms of the geographic split, 7 out of 10 of the world’s top 10 financial advisors in the technology industry are headquartered in North America and the remaining 3 are based in Europe. They employed a total of 1,237,195 people in 2021. The Dye & Durham Corporation-Link Administration Holdings deal was one of the major deals in the technology sector in 2021. Barrenjoey Capital Partners served as financial advisors to Dye & Durham, while Macquarie Capital and UBS served as the exclusive financial advisor to Link Group. Dye & Durham Limited, a Canada-based provider of cloud-based software solutions, has agreed to acquire all the outstanding shares of Link Administration Holdings Ltd, an Australia-based company engaged services provider to the superannuation administration industry, at a price of AUD5.5 per share in cash for CAD3.2 billion. The offer price represents a 15% premium to the closing price of Link Group’s shares on the ASX as of December 21, 2021. The Azerion Group-Azerion Holding deal was another major deal in the technology sector in 2021. ABN AMRO Bank N.V served as financial advisor to EFIC1, while N.M. Rothschild & Sons Limited served as financial advisor to Azerion. European FinTech IPO Company 1 B.V. (EFIC1), a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), has acquired 100% of the issued and outstanding share capital of Azerion Holding B.V., a digital entertainment, and media company. The transaction is expected to generate up to EUR405 million in gross total cash proceeds of which only a net EUR20 million is expected to flow to Azerion’s existing shareholders. The deal was completed in Q1 2022.
