Banco Bradesco is leading M&A financial adviser in South & Central America in H1 2020, says GlobalData

Banco Bradesco was the top financial adviser for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) deals in South & Central America by both deal value and volume in the first half (H1) of 2020, having advised on three deals worth US$1.1bn. BR Partners was second with three deals worth US$869.3m, according to GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.

Aurojyoti Bose, Financial Deals Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “There was close competition between Banco Bradesco and BR Partners. Both firms advised on three deals each but Banco Bradesco managed to occupy the top spot as it advised on two deals valued more than US$100m.”

Allen & Company and JP Morgan jointly occupied the third position by value with one deal worth US$646.1m each, while Lazard occupied the third position by volume having advised on two deals worth US$40m during H1, according to GlobalData.

The number of deals announced in South & Central America decreased by 24.6% from 619 in H1 2019 to 467 in H1 2020, according to GlobalData’s Financial Deals Database. Deal value also decreased by 71.1% from US$42.1bn in H1 2019 to US$12.2bn in H1 2020.
